Water or tears
I have received 2 water bills which ask me for 156.88 each, for a use of 113mq for 2017.
Nobody has read the meter, because apparently there arent enough people available, notwithstanding the large number of comune dependents.
On the bill there is no previous meter reading to justify the water ‘used’, even if the water office has always been informed of the readings for previous years.
In effect, this isnt a bill – its a begging letter for money which has no legal force.
Now, I could go to the comune and give them the actual reading, or they could send someone to read my meters. Instead the comune decided to send out thousands of pretend bills at a non insubstantial cost, all of which will be contested and corrected. Someone has decided to waste a goodly amount of public money to do this. The Water Office tells me its the system but as we are not yet in the era of Skynet, someone has pressed the send button on the keyboard to send out these demands. The question is why.
If, for these bills which are about 500% more than the actual sum owed, the Mayor could include the estimated sum to be received in the balance of the comune, he would have an estimated not indifferent amount to spend. Obviously the real amount would be small percentage of the ghost figure, but at that point it would be too late, the nonexistent money would have been spent, to be paid for by the taxpayer. It would be a obfuscated opaque and incorrect move. If it were possible, of course.
So the question remains, how much have we, the tax payer, paid to send out these useless bills?
